How-to: Pause & Restart Your CabinPulse Plan
CabinPulse makes it easy to pause your plan so you can stretch out your subscription to when you need it most.

CabinPulse is built to monitor year-round, but some who use it for property monitoring find most value in it during the winter as it ensure the temperatures stay above freezing and the power remains on. That's why CabinPulse offers seasonal flexibility to stretch your subscription period over the time you need it most.

All CabinPulse customers - regardless of plan - can pause their plan twice for a maximum combined pause duration of 6 months in the past 12 month period.

Your 1-year plan could effectively stretch to cover 2 winters, and your 3-year plan could stretch to cover up to 6 winters!

Here's How To Pause Your CabinPulse Plan

  1. Ensure you don't need monitoring - CabinPulse still provides valuable data in the summer, including smoke alarm detection, air quality and humidity data. Make sure you're certain you don't need that!
  2. Unplug your device - Once your plan is paused in the next step, your CabinPulse will automatically power down and be unable to connect to the network. However, if it remains plugged in and there's a change in power status, this can 'wake' the device and it will waste power and continue to attempt to connect unsuccessfully - potentially even causing issues when you go to reactivate the device.
  3. Navigate to the CabinPulse Dashboard
  4. Select "Account" in the menu, then select "Devices" and find the device you'd like to pause; under that device, select "Manage Plan"
  5. Now, select "Pause/Restart" and select "Pause Plan"
  6. Follow the instructions that follow - the system will check to ensure the device is unplugged, remotely power it down and disable the cellular connection.

Getting an error? Make sure that your device is powered on, in a cellular service area, and NOT connected to power.

Troubleshooting:

  • Ensure your device is connected and in a cellular service area; the bottom LED should be glowing blue. If it is flashing green, try moving it to a better service location.
  • Ensure your device is powered on and the backup battery has at least minimal charge. The bottom LED should be ON. If it isn't, plug in your device for 10-15 minutes before unplugging it and trying again.
  • Ensure your device is NOT connected to power. The system won't let you pause your plan unless the device is disconnected from power.

You'll still be able to access your data while your plan is paused, but your device won't connect or send new data, and you won't receive any alerts.

How To Restart Your CabinPulse Plan

  1. Navigate to the CabinPulse Dashboard
  2. Select "Account" in the menu, then select "Devices" and find the device you'd like to pause; under that device, select "Manage Plan"
  3. Now, select "Pause/Restart" and select "Restart Plan"
  4. Follow the instructions presented
  5. Plug in your device - Your CabinPulse was automatically powered down when you requested a pause in service; you must physically plug in the device again to power it back up.
  6. Test it - Make sure readings are coming in again; a great way to test it to make sure everything's working again is to create a power outage instant alert and then unplug the unit. You should get an alert within a few seconds if everything is working as needed.
